The Ministry of Health (Minsa) has made the decision to grant permanence to 1,568 nurses who joined the health personnel at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. These nurses had been hired temporarily to face the health crisis and are now being provided with job stability.
This measure is implemented with the aim of recognizing the work and commitment of these health professionals who have been on the front lines of care during the pandemic. Minsa acknowledges the importance of having trained and stable personnel at a critical time for the health system.
One of the representatives of the Ministry of Health stated: "It is essential to provide job security to our nursing staff, who have proven their worth and dedication in adverse situations. With this action, we seek to strengthen our health system and ensure quality care for the population".
It is important to highlight that the work of nurses has been fundamental in managing the pandemic, providing care to patients infected with COVID-19 and being a key pillar in health teams. The job stability granted will allow these professionals to continue their work efficiently and committedly in the health system.
