Gustavo Sarria Bardales is a prominent oncology professional in Peru, with extensive experience in the field of oncological radiotherapy. He currently serves as the General Director of the Cancer Control Directorate at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases since April 2023.
Additionally, he has played a relevant role in the Peruvian Society of Radiotherapy, where he was President in 2020, and in the Peruvian Society of Mastology in 2019. He has also been the Medical Director of Radiotherapy at AUNA - ONCOSALUD since 2015 and the General Coordinator of the School of Excellence in Radiotherapy since 2013. His leadership led him to be elected as president of the Ibero-Latin American Association of Radiotherapy (ALATRO) for the 2025-2026 period.
Dr. Sarria completed his training in Oncological Radiotherapy at the National Institute of Diseases between 1994 and 1998, where he also did his specialty residency. Subsequently, he specialized as a Fellow in Radiotherapy at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in William Beaumont, Michigan, USA, from November 1999 to March 2000. He is currently responsible for the San MartÃn de Porres University campus and a lecturer at the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia.
His commitment to education has led him to hold relevant positions in various institutions, demonstrating his dedication to improving cancer patient care through the training of new professionals in the field of oncology.
