Peruvian Textile Companies Boost Exports at Intermoda

A group of Peruvian entrepreneurs, supported by the Peruvian Commission for the Promotion of Exports and Tourism (PROMPERÚ), is participating in the 82nd edition of the Intermoda Fair in Guadalajara, Mexico, until January 24. This fair is recognized as one of the main fashion platforms in the region and is key to consolidating Peru's exportable offer in the Mexican market, which imported garments worth 3 billion 254 million dollars in 2023.

The goal of the Peruvian delegation at the fair is to promote its textile offer among attendees, focusing on promoting high-quality knitted fabrics like Pima cotton and Tangüis. The promotion entity Promperú has developed a strategic plan for this participation, aiming to generate more than 4 million dollars in business opportunities and finalize around 200 business meetings.

The Peruvian pavilion at the Intermoda Fair has an area of 103 m² and brings together ten prominent Peruvian companies from the textile sector. These companies are recognized for their quality, innovation, and customization capabilities and represent the competitiveness of the Peruvian textile industry.

Max Rodríguez Guillén, the new economic and trade counselor of PROMPERÚ, emphasized the adaptation of Peruvian companies to market demands and Peru's "full package industry" model, which covers everything from raw material sourcing to the final product. He highlighted vertical integration, skilled human capital, and the favorable regulatory environment for business in Peru.

Peru and Mexico have key agreements that strengthen their trade relations, such as the Bilateral Agreement, the Framework Agreement of the Pacific Alliance, and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

This year's 82nd edition of the Intermoda Fair stands out for its focus on sustainability and technology, including a special pavilion dedicated to eco-friendly fashion, showcasing brands and designers committed to using recycled materials and responsible production practices.
