Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Peru expanded by 3.4% in the accumulated period from January to October 2025, a growth driven by the strengthening of the country's domestic demand, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF). In October alone, economic activity recorded an increase of 3.6%, marking 22 consecutive months of expansion for the Peruvian economy, the MEF highlighted in a statement, learned by the Argentine News Agency. The head of the ministry, Denisse Miralles, stated that this progress reaffirms the strength of the macroeconomic foundations and projects a positive result for the end of the year. The accumulated growth 'sets a solid base for a good start to 2026, with prospects for continuity in growth and economic consolidation,' added the minister. Primary sectors lead the expansion. According to reports from the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), the October 2025 result was strongly favored by the primary sectors, which grew by 7.8%, reaching their highest rate since December 2024. Two primary sectors stood out notably: Fishing: It grew by 25.7%. Primary Manufacturing: It expanded by 26.1%. This performance was made possible by neutral oceanographic conditions that allowed for a greater extraction of hydrobiological resources. The mining and hydrocarbons sector, in turn, registered a growth of 6.8%, associated with higher production of zinc and copper, the increase in the molybdenum grade, and the expansion of oil production. The INEI also reported that non-primary sectors had a positive performance, growing by 2.5% in October, reflecting the 'resilience' of these sectors driven by the growing domestic demand.
