In the town of Peru Lime, a man mysteriously emerged after his train was hit by a freight train while he was sleeping next to the railway, local authorities reported. The municipal safety secretary Iti Javier Avalos stated that "the train hit him, and by some miracle, he was not killed," adding: "Apparently, he was drunk and fell asleep next to the rails, even not sensing the approaching train."
The passenger train "Andina Express" followed in the vicinity of And, when it crashed into Juan Carlos Teilo (28 years old), who was lying next to the rails, and stopped a few seconds later. Video recordings from the surveillance cameras, published by the municipality, showed the moment of collision of the red locomotive with the young man, throwing him several meters, after which he got up and fell, only to get up again as if feeling shock near the rails, and went into the darkness while the emergency services with flashlights approached him.
