Xi Jinping Calls for Inclusive Global Economic Cooperation

In Lima, China’s President Xi Jinping urges for an inclusive economic globalization, emphasizing the importance of interdependence and innovation for shared growth, during the APEC leaders' meeting.

The President of China, Xi Jinping, during his participation in the business meeting parallel to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum in Lima, Peru, called for maintaining economic cooperation in the region, highlighting the importance of interdependence and common interests. Xi described the region as an "interdependent community with a shared future" and asserted that Asia-Pacific must continue to be the "engine" of economic globalization in the future.

Xi attributed the success of the region's economies to factors such as commitment to peace and stability, the practice of multilateralism and open regionalism, as well as faith in the trend toward economic globalization and mutual benefits. In this regard, he emphasized that the Pacific can become a pathway to prosperity and growth if acted upon with openness and connection. The Chinese president forecasted another "30 golden years" of development for the region.

During his speech, Xi Jinping pointed out that attempts to block economic cooperation under various pretexts and dismantle global interdependence represent a regression. Amid the challenges facing economic globalization in a context of global turmoil and transformation, the Chinese leader advocated for inclusive and universally beneficial globalization.

Xi urged directing economic globalization in the right direction, generating positive outcomes and adopting a more dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable phase. He stressed the importance of making innovation the engine of global growth, supporting developing countries in science and technology, reforming global economic governance systems, and balancing relations between rich and poor countries.

In this sense, Xi Jinping emphasized the need to achieve common development among all countries, preventing the rich from becoming richer at the expense of the poor. The Chinese president highlighted challenges and opportunities for the Asia-Pacific economy, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and openness in the region to achieve prosperous and sustainable growth.
