In the midst of the controversy, Nicola Porcella appeared calm and assured that he is on good terms with his friends, clarifying that the situation was misinterpreted. He expressed feeling violated by the invasion of his privacy and the distortion of his words.
"I am calm, frankly happy. Don’t give it importance. What I said was misinterpreted. It bothers me that we return to this situation where I can’t express myself anywhere, where I can’t say anything anymore. Everything I said was distorted; I was referring to something else," commented Nicola.
The television presenter stated that he never spoke badly about his friends and began to suspect who might have leaked the conversation. He expressed discomfort at feeling restricted in his freedom of expression and opinion, insinuating that the leak may have come from the press.
