Peruvian defender Carlos Zambrano ceased to be a footballer for Alianza Lima after reaching an agreement between both parties to terminate his contract following the complaint for alleged sexual abuse against the former Boca player. The central defender had been separated from the rest of the squad by the Peruvian club's management and finally followed the path of the already released Miguel Trauco and Sergio Peña, also involved and denounced by the 22-year-old Argentine woman who was the victim, according to her testimony. A few weeks ago, Alianza Lima confirmed the departures of players Trauco and Peña after they were accused of alleged sexual assault against a young Argentine woman, an incident that would have occurred during the preseason held in Montevideo, Uruguay. What happened with the complaint The complaint was filed by a 22-year-old Argentine woman, who accused Trauco, Peña Flores, and Zambrano of an incident that would have occurred on January 18 in a hotel in Montevideo, Uruguay. As stated in the complaint that the Argentine News Agency was able to verify, the young woman went to the hotel with a friend after an invitation extended by Zambrano. After the episode, the complainant returned to Argentina and sought medical attention at various health centers. Among them, the San Juan de Dios Clinic, in San Isidro, where she recounted what happened to the medical staff. Likewise, she stated that she had kept the clothing used during the incident, garments that could be relevant to the judicial investigation. On January 21, the young woman went to the Muñiz Hospital and formalized the criminal complaint, which triggered the corresponding protocols and the intervention of the Argentine justice system. The case was filed in the National Criminal and Correctional Court No. 14, in charge of Judge Rabbione, and was captioned as sexual abuse with carnal access. Among the first measures, the intervention of the Division of Sexual Violence Crimes was ordered, the seizure of the garments provided by the complainant, and the compilation of the medical histories of the health centers where she was treated. It was also decided to carry out medical examinations according to the current protocol, the taking of biological samples, and the application of prophylactic treatment. As a protection measure, the young woman received a panic button and Program 137 was brought in, aimed at assisting victims of sexual violence. After the complaint became known, Alianza Lima issued an official statement informing the indefinite separation of the three footballers from the first men's team and the initiation of an internal disciplinary procedure. “The club has indefinitely separated the footballers involved from the first men's team, to whom a disciplinary procedure has been initiated in accordance with our internal regulations,” the institution stated.
