Buenos Aires, Nov 29 (NA) — A Brazilian Palmeiras fan died in Lima, Peru, while traveling on a tourist bus ahead of the Copa Libertadores final, in which his team will face Flamengo.

According to information obtained by the Argentine News Agency, he was in the top part of the bus with other fans when he suffered a fatal blow to the head.

«At 4:28 PM, he was transported by a police ambulance with a severe traumatic brain injury secondary to a blow produced in the upper part of a tourist bus,» the report states. «He was immediately taken to the Trauma Shock Unit, where unfortunately his death was confirmed,» Carlos Navarro, medical director of the Maison de Santé Clinic in Chorrillos, told La República.

The Brazilian club announced the sad news through a press release: «Palmeiras deeply regrets the death of fan Caue Brunelli Dezotti, 38, who was in Lima, Peru, to attend the CONMEBOL Libertadores final, scheduled for this Saturday (29).»

«We express our solidarity with Caue's family and friends at this time of pain and sadness,» the statement read.
