Lima has been awarded the hosting rights for the 2025 Copa Libertadores final. This was officially confirmed after a meeting between CONMEBOL President Alejandro Domínguez and Peruvian President José Jerí. The Peruvian capital is preparing to host the continental tournament's final for the second time in history, repeating the success of 2019. The trophy is already in Lima, on public display by CONMEBOL, while final security and logistical details are being arranged. Domínguez emphasized that Lima was always firm and that the Peruvian government is committed to ensuring a safe, first-class event. The CONMEBOL president also stated that the Monumental stadium is ready to host the finalists, Brazilian clubs Flamengo and Palmeiras. He mentioned that over 80% of the stadium has been sold, meaning around 60,000 people from abroad will attend, in addition to Peruvian fans. In closing, Domínguez commented on other countries' interest in hosting future finals outside South America, noting that the final in Spain had an incredible turnout.
