Colombian singer Shakira sparked euphoria among her fans outside the National Stadium in Lima on Saturday, just hours before resuming the first of her three scheduled concerts in Peru as part of her 'Las Mujeres Ya no Lloran World Tour'.
Fans of the popular artist have been camping outside the stadium for several days, hoping to be the first to enter the concert and to see, and if possible, touch the singer, who returns to Lima after canceling a concert in February due to a stomach ailment.
This Saturday, Sunday the 16th, and Tuesday the 18th, Shakira will reunite with the Peruvian public to perform 'Girl Like Me', 'Hips don't lie', 'Te felicito', 'Monotonía', and classics from her discography such as 'Waka Waka', 'Antología', and 'Ojos así', accompanied by her dance troupe and constant hip movements.
On Friday night, the artist arrived in Lima from Los Angeles, where she attended the premiere of the movie Zootopia 2, and headed to her hotel in the Miraflores district, without having contact with the fans or press waiting for her.
Her fans eagerly await to find out which Peruvian celebrities she will choose to join her in the 'Walk with the She-Wolf' segment, among whom are former vedette Susy Díaz, TV host María Pia Copello, and models Flavia Laos and Luana Barrón, among others.
As has happened in other cities on the tour, Shakira has also invited the Lima Philharmonic Orchestra to perform a special version of her song 'La Pared'.
The orchestra's coordinator and violist, Ariadna Ramírez, said they were 'happy about this opportunity and to represent the Lima Philharmonic with Shakira, it's extremely important'.
Minutes before entering the National Stadium, followers rushed to buy pink cowboy hats, purple wigs, gypsy belts, t-shirts, headbands, and fox tails to complete their outfit for the concert night.
In view of the thousands of attendees in this area of the city, the Lima and Callao Urban Transport Authority (ATU) announced on its social media that it will extend its operating hours until midnight during the three days of concerts for the Metropolitano and Corredor Azul bus services.
Shakira's next stop on the tour will be Santiago de Chile on November 22, followed by Asunción on November 28 and 29.
